✦ The Action Gap

THEAction Gap

You know what you need to do. You want the result. And yet — you're not doing it. This isn't a motivation problem. It's a nervous system problem. Let's close the gap.

If you've just taken the alignment quiz, you already know your gap. Now let's close it.

01Name the thing you're not doing
02Uncover the real fear beneath it
03Count the cost of staying still
04Shrink the action until fear can't find it
05Cross the line — right now
01 Name it
What's the one thing you keep not doing?
The thing that sits on your to-do list but never gets done. The action you know would move things forward — but somehow always gets pushed. Don't overthink it. Write the first thing that comes up.
02 The real fear
What does your nervous system think will happen?
Underneath every avoided action is a protection story. It's not laziness. Pick the fear that resonates most honestly — even if it's uncomfortable to admit.
03 The cost
What is NOT doing this actually costing you?
We're wired to avoid pain more than pursue gain. Right now your brain is focused on the pain of doing it. Let's make the pain of staying still just as visible. Be ruthlessly honest.
04 Shrink it
What's the smallest possible version of this action?
Your brain can't object to something genuinely tiny. We're not doing the whole thing right now. We're doing the version that proves the territory is safe. Make it so small it feels almost embarrassing.
Open the draft and write one line Write the subject line only Record 60 seconds, no audience Send one message to one person Write the first sentence Open the app/doc/tool
05 Become her
Who is the version of you that does this as normal?
Not the version who's working up to it. The version who already has what you desire. What does she think about this action? How does she feel before she does it? Write her into being.

Your micro action — do this today
5
5 seconds. That's the window before your brain talks you out of it. When you're ready — count down from 5 and move.
The version of you who does this

One commitment

Write your micro action somewhere you'll see it. Tell one person. Do it within the next 24 hours — not when you feel ready, because ready doesn't come before the action. It comes after.
